Camp Discovery
Camp Discovery is a wonderful summer opportunity for boys and girls. The camp is for children going into kindergarten through rising seventh graders. Each week features a different and exciting theme to make the summer more enjoyable. Regular activities include swimming, frequent field trips, sports and games, art projects, crafts, music, movies, and outside play.
The camp is held throughout the summer beginning the week school is out and ending the week school begins in the fall. Camp Discovery is a summer feature of the Altavista Area YMCA childcare program and is licensed by the state of Virginia. The staff is capably trained to guarantee each child has a safe and enjoyable summer.
Camp Discovery is scheduled at the Altavista Area YMCA, Gretna, Leesville Road, Tomahawk, Yellow Branch, Concord, and Rustburg elementary schools.
Camp Fee: $85 per week
Time: 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Pre-School Camp
Children ages 3-5 years of age can attend Pre-School Camp any week during the summer. Children attend Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Contact Patsy Waller, Director of Pre-School, for more information or to answer any questions.
Camp Fee: $50 per week
